Day 01: CAIRO
Arrival at Cairo International Airport, English-speaking assistance at the airport by our representative before passport control. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 02: CAIRO
Breakfast. In the morning, visit to the Three Pyramids of Giza; Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple of Khafre “does not include entry to the interior of the Pyramids.” Return to the hotel and accommodation.
In the afternoon, optional visit to the Saqqara Necropolis and the City of Memphis, Capital of the Old Kingdom. In the evening, optional visit to the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza.
Day 03: CAIRO
Breakfast. Full day of visits in Cairo; to the Egyptian Museum of Pharaonic Art, the Citadel of Saladin with its Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Coptic Quarter, and the Khan El-Khalili Market. Optional visit to a Buffet Dinner with Show on a boat on the Nile River. Return to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 04: CAIRO / MOSES’ SPRINGS / SAINT CATHERINE
Half board. Departure to the Sinai Peninsula; Saint Catherine via the Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel beneath the Suez Canal passing through the Sinai Desert from the African Continent to the Asian Continent. A panoramic visit to Ayun Musa or Moses’ Springs (Mara). Continue to Saint Catherine. Arrival at the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 05: SAINT CATHERINE / MOUNT MOSES / CAIRO
Breakfast. Departure to climb Mount Moses or Mount Sinai (Mount Horeb) 2285m high, where the prophet Moses received the tablets of the law from God while the Hebrew people camped at the foot of the mountain; from the top of the mountain, we can see the sunrise and Mount Saint Catherine, the highest peak in the peninsula at 2637m. Upon descending the mountain, visit to the Monastery of Saint Catherine (IF POSSIBLE) located at 1570m altitude with its impressive walls built between 527 and 565 by order of Emperor Justinian on the biblical site of the burning bush. The monastery is named after Saint Catherine, an Alexandrian martyr who died in 395, whose body, transported by angels, would be discovered 5 centuries later on the summit of the mountain that bears her name. The monastery is the smallest diocese in the world and the oldest active monastery; its library holds the oldest manuscripts in the world after the Vatican. Return to the hotel. Leave the Sinai Peninsula and head to Cairo via the Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel above the Suez Canal passing through the Sinai Desert from the Asian Continent to the African Continent. Arrival in Cairo. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 06: CAIRO
Breakfast. At the scheduled time, transfer to Cairo International Airport, English-speaking assistance at the airport by our representative.
